We have partnered with motorsport legend Gerry Marshall to produce an official range of t-shirts celebrating some of his greatest victories and most significant results.

This design features Gerry’s favouring and most race winning Vauxhall Firenza, more affectionately known as Old Nail. Launched in late 1971, Gerry won the first ever race contested in Old Nail at Llandow and continued winning regularly from 1971 until 1974 (when Big Bertha was released) and then more in 1975 (whilst Baby Bertha was being built). Nail started live as Flat Front 2.3 Vauxhall Firenza, that was highly developed over a four year period, with the engine enlarging to 2.6, becoming a Twin Cam, dry sump, mechanically fuel inject engine, producing 275bhp and also gaining a five speed gearbox, Droop Snoot nose, partial spaceframe front end and Formula One slick tyres. Old Nail was effectively retired from Gerry’s use in 1975 and with the end of the DTV race team in 1977, Bill Blydenstein presented her to Gerry as a thank you.  Gerry drove her one last time at Brands Hatch in 1978, of course winning and was the only race car Gerry kept until his untimely passing in 2005. Gerry competed in Old Nail one hundred times, winning sixty four races, numerous podiums, with only a handful of retirements, plus three overall Special Saloon Championships.

Gerry Marshall was a British Motorsport Hero, starting racing in 1963 and competing up until his passing in 2005. He contested over 1,400 races, winning 625 and literally drove and won in anything and everything. He is sorely missed by the legions of fans that loved to watch his exuberant and flamboyant style on track and his escapades in the bars and clubhouses afterwards.
